Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of those gases produced in the past and were produced  prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2021

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations

2021 was our first year of recording this data, therefore these are our baseline emissions.

Our current calculations are for November 2022 and our next calculations will take place in November 2023 in line with our Environmental Management System (EMS) cycle. Our financial year end is 31 July 2023.

Baseline year emissions:

As this is our first year of reporting our calculations are the same as the Current emissions reporting.

Emissions Reduction Targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

The targets are estimates only as we continue to find new ways to further reduce our carbon footprint and we will endeavour to reach net zero emissions well before 2050.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 42.344 tCO2e by 2026. This is a reduction of 20%

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

We operate a 95% paper free organisation with all legacy files converted to soft data and stored in cloud-based systems.

No paper processes exist, with all documentation electronically signed, delivered, and stored securely. Invoices are emailed to clients or downloaded from a secure portal.

Our cloud-based system aligns with the government’s Cloud First agenda and is a low carbon solution.

We use local businesses and suppliers where appropriate to boost local economy and reduce the carbon footprint of the good/services provided.

Employees are encouraged to walk or cycle to work & recycling is mandatory. We regularly donate old digital devices and recycle those that are no longer to combat ‘e-waste’.

Disposal plastic glasses have been replaced with re-usable cups.

Our communications system is centrally hosted, using less power than a server per unit approach.

We have no longer have company vehicles with engineers using public transport to travel to sites.

Carbon Reductions Projects

As part of our commitment to achieve Net Zero, will work to reducing our business’s carbon emissions wherever possible and look to invest in conservation projects where we can offset our carbon footprint.

In the future, we hope to implement further measures such as increasing the amount of Electric Vehicle charging points and continuing to monitor our EMS and update when necessary.

We will continue to engage with staff & provide further training on ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

We will investigate into moving to green energy tariffs.
