When I sat down and thought about the next 5 years at Glemnet and what we needed, it soon dawned on me that we were only scraping the very surface of the Cloud revolution. Hosted telephony was now established and we were being very successful at sales and marketing, installation, support and billing. We were moving a lot of SME’s from their old on-premise PBX to the brave new world of Cloud. The customers were very happy and so were we. Stable, secure, robust business telephony solutions, fully supported and managed by us up to 24/7.

Then I looked back to how our business had evolved over the last 16 years, and how the products and services that we sell now are so vastly different to those which we sold at the beginning. How technology moves so very fast that you are always being asked to find new solutions to keep customers happy as their requirements change. Cloud telephony is one thing but what about Unified Communications (UC)?

Where all services that you use to communicate with can be brought together under a single view.

Where you could manage all of your contacts and you can collaborate with the rest of your team.

Where you can have all of these services on any device at any time in any place.

Where you can measure and monitor and record all services and integrate with many other platforms in a simple way.

Looking at the market and its suppliers, there were some very fine solutions out there. I went out to the market and spoke with many suppliers. I spoke with friends and colleagues from the Comms industry and sought their opinion.  It was clear from an early stage that there was one company and one solution–Broadcloud aka GiNiEX -that stood out from the rest of the crowd. One which was really the pioneer of Unified Communications, and who had the reputation and the back up to support us in the way in which we wanted to be supported across all departments.
