VoIP

What is VoIP?

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol, technology that allows you to call anyone in the world via the Internet.

How does it work?

VoIP converts the analogue human voice into digital data and divides it into groups of numbers. It then compresses the data, divides it into packets and sends it to its destination. Once there, it is reassembled in the correct order and converted from digital back to analogue – the sound of your voice.

What do I Need?

Basic needs include a broadband connection with a router and a PC with some suitable software sufficient to enable VoIP. However, most businesses will require a greater quality call which is where GlemNet come in – we’ll manage the service using suitable broadband technology and IP Telephony hardware to ensure the standard call quality you need.
