St Mungo’s is a charity and housing association working directly every day with people who are sleeping rough, in hostels and at risk of homelessness.
St Mungo’s manages over 100 sites ranging mainly from Hostels to offices for admin and support staff. Traditionally these sites have been served by traditional IT and telecommunications services. Many of the sites are on short term leases and rolling agreements with landlords.
St Mungo’s needed to equip these sites with the necessary services to provide comprehensive business grade telephony for staff and clients but without investing £1000’s in expensive capital equipment such as on premise PBX’s.
The Glemnet team recognized the need for a flexible solution that would provide for the needs of the organisation in terms of features and functionality but that could also be installed for a fraction of the cost of on premise equipment. It was quickly established that the Glemnet/NFON Cloud communications solution would meets the needs. By providing a telephony solution that could be enabled across any existing internet connection and was ideal for rapid deployment. Furthermore as a site came to the end of its lease the solution could easily be transported and re installed at another location with minimal fuss and expenditure making it very cost effective.

St Mungo’s has now successfully deployed over 200 Cloud extensions across 20 sites with new sites coming on stream every month.
Costs have been rationalised as the package comes with all UK calls included in a bundle. And with installations from as few as 2 extensions the system has truly become the de facto for all of the St Mungo’s sites going forward.
